Abstract
The hemophilic pseudotumor is a progressive cystic swelling involving muscle,
produced by recurrent hemorrhage and accompanied by roentgenographic evidence of
tone involvement.
This rare but serious complication in patients with severe hemophilia should alert the
physician to the early diagnosis and proper management, especially in case of
intraabdominal involvement, to prevent from possible progression of disability and
life-threatening consequences.
The authors experienced a case of hemophilic pseudotumor in right iliac fossa
accompanied by perforation of iliac wing and fistula formation into bladder in 35
year-old male patient with hemophilia A.
He was presented with hematuria and swelling of left ankle. He noted right lower
quadrant abdominal masts for 18 years without specific disability except for slow
enlargement of mass. Computerized tomogram confirmed the mass of 13 §¯ in diameter
with central low density and perforation of iliac wing. He had been treated
conservatively.
Here presented the first case of hemophilic pseudotumor of pelvis in Korea with the
review of the literature.
